  • The Support You Need

What a doula does for you

    • Guidance leading up to your time of birth, so you can have a calm, confident approach, and support with whatever turns may occur.

    • On-call, continuous emotional and physical support during labor so you never feel alone or overwhelmed.

    • Support with self-advocacy and clear communication with your care team so your preferences are heard and respected.

    • Comfort measures (breathing, position changes, massage, warm/cold therapy, hydrotherapy guidance) that shorten labor, create more ease in birthing, and reduce interventions.

    • Evidence-based education before and during labor so you make informed choices with confidence.

    • Hands-on newborn help postpartum: soothing, feeding support, sleep settling, and practical guidance to ease the adjustment.

    • Breastfeeding help and lactation guidance from an experienced breastfeeding educator, to increase success and reduce frustration in those critical early days.

    The impact

    • Reduced likelihood of unnecessary interventions and cesarean.

I needed Xylina’s support with both of my babies (not twins). She inspired my husband to support me in practical ways, helped me accomplish my breastfeeding goals, and provided numerous other things my postpartum brain wasn’t up for. The care she provided was invaluable!
